If by the 6th treatment you will need min of 4 weeks break before starting this treatment again. Verrutop is a recently developed medication utilised to treat verrucae and warts. It contains Nitrizinc complex that is applied directly to the affected area. Individuals seeking complete removal of those smaller verrucae or warts , especially warts located around the nail area, or those commonly found on the tops of toes and feet are typically well suited for treatment with Verrutop. This treatment is also ideal for patients with a particularly low pain threshold and can be safely used on children from 6 years old and upwards. The number of Verrutop treatments required can vary depending on several factors, including the size, location and severity of the verrucae or wart. As well as individual response to the treatment. In many cases 3-6 treatments are required, with an interval of 10-14 days between each treatment. It is important to follow the recommended treatment plan and attend all scheduled appointments to maximise the effectiveness of Verrutop. Verrutop treatment is generally well tolerated and not considered painful. However, some patients may experience a slight stinging or burning sensation at the application site. However this sensation usually subsides quickly. A clinical study involving 200 patients with 766 verrucae demonstrated an 89.3% clearance rate within the recommended 6 treatments. During your initial consultation, we will record your medical history and assess whether this treatment is suitable for you. We will carry out any preparations needed to begin the treatment on the wart or verruca. If you wish to proceed after this, the treatment will begin. Each treatment inc the consultant fee will be £69 and paid in advance of each appointment. Treatments include the application of 1 vial of Verrutop, (one vial contains enough solution to apply to 2-3 medium-sized warts or verrucae). You will need to return to the clinic for a follow-up appointment every 10-14 days. These appointments will cost £69, which includes the application of Verrutop. Between appointments you will need to use surgical sprit twice a day to the treated area & sanitize your footwear. For patients with clusters of verrucas, it may be necessary for additional vials to be used, each additional vial will cost £25. The podiatrist will advise you of any additional costs at the time of your initial consultation. It recommended that you use surgical sprit to the effected areas 2 weeks prior your first treatment. And must be 4 weeks FREE of using any other verruca and wart treatments prior starting this treatment. Shortly after application you may notice a slight burning or itching around the area. It will normally pass within a hour. Do not rub or scratch the area. If you do, wash your hands with plenty of water and do not rub your eyes. You may also notice that the wart/verruca changes colour very quickly, to white or yellow. You can wash and shower as normal but avoid long hot soaks in the bath or swimming. Over the next few days; It may continue to change colour - sometimes to Black In order to support the drying process it is advisable to dab surgical spirit twice a day to the treated area between visits In some cases the wart/verruca can detach from the skin before 15 days, leaving normal skin underneath. Usually a number of treatments are required so it is important to keep the appointment set by your Health Professional See Blog for treatments that have worked.
Before and After Before treatment you are to stop all other verruca/wart treatments 4x week prior your Verrutop treatment. 2 weeks leading up to the 1st treatment you are recommended to use surgical spirt on the affected area twice a day and continue this in between the treatments to the verruca is gone and checked off by your Foot Health Professional. Learn MoreI have a Type N Autoclave for my instruments. I follow the below: With a displacement steam sterilizer (type N), the instruments will not be wrapped prior to sterilization. Immediately after removal from the sterilizer, instruments should be aseptically wrapped using suitable sealed view packs. This could be achieved by the use of forceps, clean gloves or any other appropriate process. In addition, the entire tray may be placed within a sealed pack for storage purposes. In both of these instances, storage for up to 12 months is recommended. Practices will need to be able to demonstrate that this storage time is not being exceeded. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/170689/HTM_01-05_2013.pdf My Autoclave is serviced by Nick Carter at njcautoclaves.com .
